By eck its frozzen!

Well all the hype about the snow is annoying me like smeg. It's all people are talking about on the telly and on the board... espeshly from certain people who page me during their lunch break :p
Once upon a time it snowed for days and stayed settled for week, it's nothing special :p Maybe I'm just bitter because it only snowed here for an hour and its already just about gone again... BASTARDS!

I got a bill the other day from uni telling me i owe them money, even though the LEA told me that they were paying all my fees for this year. So I went to see somebody in uni to get some answers from them, and they said that my LEA have assessed me wrong. They have only assessed me for half of my fees because they think I am on a placement year, when in fact I'm on a sandwich placement.... which apparently is different :s so today I rang up the LEA and explained my situation, and there telling me I need to tell my uni to send them a letter explaining my situation. Its all a load of bollocks to me, which I could do without right now. Maybe I should just jack it all in.

I'm off out for a meal tonight with various family members. It's to celebrate my birthday after nearly a month. Everyone has been ill and we weren't able to do anything nearer the time. But as my luck goes, I seem to be coming down with what they all had and so i feel rotten :(
Lets just hope I can taste the food and the 9 people who are joining me aren't too loud :s

Hello fellow conblogulars :D
My weekend was pretty slow. The highlights include the following:

- I rung Jen up on Saturday night. At first she thought I was one of her daughters friends and she wasn't very welcoming (god I miss her!). She soon realised it was me and apologised though, haha. We didn't speak for too long, because it was costing me 20p a minute, but we managed to have a giggle about one of Damian's mates. Jen wouldn't let her daughter speak to me because, in her words 'SHE'S MINE!'... Its nice to know I belong to someone half way round the world! :D

- Jono said wagga! I sent him a text after the Sheffield Wednesday match on Saturday. We won :D The text message I sent to him looked a bit like this...
'We love you Wednesday we do
We love you Wednesday we do
We love you Wednesday we do
And Cappsy smells of poo!'

He replied... 'a good win weren't it. wagga!' It made me smile :D

Well that was my weekend. Thank you everyone, and good night/afternoon/morning!

As a desperate attempt to get the readers of this blog interested, I decided I would look up a few things that's interest them personally. It was quite difficult to find stuff that I had something to say about on a few subjects but I think what I do have could be enough to start a conversation in the comment box or elsewhere.

For Gemma: Tyrian purple
'Variously known as Royal purple, Tyrian purple, purple of the ancients, this ancient dyestuff, mentioned in texts dating about 1600 BC, was produced from the mucus of the hypobranchial gland of various species of marine molluscs, notably Murex. Although originating in Tyre (hence the name), man's first large scale chemical industry spread throughout the world. With the decline of the Roman Empire, the use of the dye also declined and large scale production ceased with the fall of Constantinople in 1453 (29 May, actually). It was replaced by other cheaper dyes like lichen purple and madder.'

Mucus? Glands? It all sounds rather gross to me! Does that mean I have mucus all over my bedroom walls? Well maybe if I lived in 1600 BC, ay? I always thought that colours came from fruit, veg and plants or is that what they're talking about? It would help if I understood what I quote, but that can't always be possible when science and history fans insist of using long words!

For Gav: Rallying
'Changing weather conditions are giving the World Rally Championship teams a few headaches in Monte Carlo as drivers and team bosses ponder the problems of picking the right tyre.
The stages were icy and snowy this morning, but the temperatures are relatively high and all this is starting to melt. The big question is how thorough the big melt will be.'

I was under the impression that Rallying could be done in all conditions, and the skidding around uncontrollably in lots of different weather conditions was the point and fun to the sport. From little rallying I've seen I remember big puddles, mud and bumps. Did I dream this?
I wish I was a rally driver. That woman who used to present top gear with Quinten (sp) was sooo cool!

For Capps and Wendy: Should web designers be regulated?
'Who decides who qualifies? Who decides what qualifies?
We all know that no matter what qualifications are set, there will be ..... Well, to use the example of automotive industry.. Shade tree mechanics....
Yes I am sure MANY would frown and point to me as an example of an "unqualified" web designer, but I can not COUNT the number of times I have helped a so called "certified web master" or certified web designer" fix or do something.....
Most emails begin "Hey I can't seem to get....." and when I ask for a link to see the code I discover they are some web designer who has a degree or certificate. Even worse; some technician at a computer repair place that has decided he can do websites too and is learning as he goes.'

I am guessing that this is a debate stemming from the fact that the website industry is a competitive one. On one hand we have people who are qualified, and have certificates to prove it, and on the other hand there's people who don't have any qualifications but are capable of producing the same quality (sometimes better) sites. Then there's the feet. The left foot is someone with the certificate, but somehow (possibly due to being on a crap course) doesn't even know where to start, and you also have people on the right foot who don't have any qualifications, or experience and are trying to pass themselves off as professionals to make a few extra pennies.
I fall into the left foot category. I passed the web development module in my first year at university, but I had trouble with certain areas, and still do. I couldn't make a career out of it as I stand now, any ways.
Where do people look to employ someone to build them a website? How do people know that they are employing someone capable? By choosing the one with the qualifications? Not always!

weeeeeeeee!
That was actually quite fun!

My last exam didn't go too badly. I was actually amazed that I managed to get over half marks. The course was poorly taught and the exam itself was set out badly. The multiple choice questions didn't even point out how many of the choices were suppose to be correct (that usually happens in our exams). But what the hell!

I have a lecture at 3pm about health and safety at work... I don't even have a bloody placement yet. I'm gonna go off a write some letters for potential employers after I've finished mooching round the net (In other words... putting it off :P).

I didn't get much sleep at all last night. My new alarm clock could tick for queen and country x( Plus knowing that I had an exam that I was really nervous about didn't help either... and I keep having those damned dreams about Jono! *screams* (I wouldn't ask)

I need to organise a big meet at some point, It's been a while since we had one with a lot of us. The only problem being is where will we meet, and if its for a weekend then where will people sleep? The obvious answer for me would be 'TENT!' but I have a feeling that most people would object due to the time of year. Miserable lot! :p

Ah well, I will think of something, hopefully. In the mean time any suggestions would be helpful :D

That was the time of my exam, and I don't think I did too badly. Despite being really tired towards the end and having to skip a few coding questions, due to lack of concentration. I got all frustrated and went a flushy and hot. Plus I was excited because I knew I was going to be invaded by Capps, Jono and Simon after the football match was over. We won 4-0, weeeeee!!

Well I got what I wanted from the night anyways, a hug from thee blokes and a nice natter. Simon made my stripy undies go all squiffy by trying (and failing) to give me a wedgie and he ate all my biscuits! Jono was in his only little 'we won' world... he looked quite knackered too, bless :p Capps was quite perky and chatty for a change, nice to see :)

haha ;D

Now If you excuse me I'm going to sit and grin to myself... thank you and good night :D

I have a smile
stretched from ear to ear
to see you walking down the road
We meet at the lights
I stare for a while
the world around us disappears

it`s Just you and me
on my island of hope
a breath between us could be miles
Let me surround you
my sea to your shore
let me be the calm you seek

Oh but every time I'm close to you
there's too much I can't say
and you just walk away

And I forgot
to tell you
I love you
and the night's
too long
and cold here
without you
I grieve in my condition
for I cannot find the words to say I need you so

Oh but every time I'm close to you
there's too much I can't say
and you just walk away

And I forgot
to tell you
I love you
and the night's
too long
and cold here
without you

I can't see my comments, so if you have any thing important to discuss with me regarding anything that I post here, then feel free to talk to me on yahoo :D

My dad put a shelf up for me today in my cubbyhole. I'm gonna use it to paint on and it will house all my paint related things... I may even hang my paintings in there. Due to having emptied all the junk out of the hole my bed is covered in it, so I'm sleeping on the floor tonight. I have 2 sleeping bags and a duvets to get comfie with, so it shouldn't be too bad.

there's a Wednesday game on 20th that Jono and Capps are going to, but I cant join them because I'm in an exam till 8.20pm. I don't understand why thy couldn't have had it earlier in the day or earlier on another day. I'm not just concerned with the football match, its getting home too. *grumbles*.

I'm kind of at a puzzling time. I should be starting a placement about now, but I haven't been able to get one sorted. Because I'm not doing one computer related the department at Uni aren't giving me much support and I could do with it really. I don't know where to start.

I went to my nans today for tea. Me and a few other members of the family go every Wednesday, but this is the first time its happened since before Christmas. Its nice to get back into the routine... we have a dead good fuddle with the food on offer :D Good old Nannan :D

I still haven't heard from Beki. I might have to ring her up myself and remind her who I am. Bint!

Id like to take this Opportunity to copy someone and give myself a new full feature for my blog. Its as follow:

Christmas is over, new year is over and so is my birthday. Just another year to wait now before anything exciting happens.
I've been thinking about what I could do for my 21st. I was discussing it with a friend of mine, and the best thing we came up with was a barbie themed party. Everyone has to bring a barbie and dress in pink... and the blokes can bring an action man or a ken :P
But if I did have a party (of any kind) who would I invite? Probably a few people from school who I haven't seen for 5 years. Friends from the Internet, obviously. People from Uni and College. If I don't have enough friends I could always write 'You + 10 guests' on everyone's invitations.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hehe. I'm getting ahead of myself a little there, aren't I?

I would go into detail about what I did for New year and my birthday... but I really don't have the energy for it. I'm getting old, you see.
Maybe some other time.
