Wednesday, March 24, 2004 ( 1:13 pm ) A few months a go I went to a pub with a friend of mine. She had only just recently passed her driving test and so we decided to take the car. Once we had had a few drinks we came back to the car. A taxi driver had parked awkwardly next to us in the car park. He was standing at the car park entrance with a fellow taxi driver looking over at us. He had no intention of comin to move his car, so he just watched as Anna struggled to get out of the tight space. She ended up scraping her wing mirror on his wing mirror. Only then did the taxi driver start running over... Ooops This week has been going quite slow for some reason. I haven't really done anything interesting... Well not since Monday. On Monday I helped my dad build a new fence. Using an electric drill is so cool! It makes you feel all powerful and handy :D Yesterday afternoon was so sad for me, because it was the last episode of 'The Father Dowling Mysteries'. I'm gonna miss Sister Stephanie... She's well cool for a nun! Today it's shitty Diagnosis Murder! *sobs* I might have to watch 'Love Actually' today to fill in my now empty 2.35 - 3.20 slot. I have downloaded four Cure albums since this time yesterday, which I am feeling very happy about. My collection is getting closer to being complete. The fith was downloading a min ago, but the user has just gone offline. Bastid! Last night me and James went to Matilan to change the jacket he bought for a smaller size. It took us about 10 mins to get off the drive. He passed his test a week ago now, he's a great driver when it comes to driving forwards... But he had to reverse off the drive. It was at a funny angle and he tried to maneuver it but it didn't quite go to plan. I believe his exact words where... 'I think I'm gonna hit the porch' but instead of stopping and maneuvering again, he carried on going. He was right thought. He did hit the porch. With the wing mirror. He stuck his hand out of the window and it seemed fine, so we carried on our way to the shop (After about another 5 mins of trying to get off the driver). When we got to the car park we had another look at the mirror. It practically fell off in our hands... It was hangin on by the electrics... Ooops. Song of the Day Artist: White Stripes Title: Seven Nation Army Album: Elephant Reason: I can play it on the bass guitar :D Thursday, March 18, 2004 ( 1:13 pm ) My brother passed his driving test the other day, and I passed my modules the week before. So we went out for a meal last night as a double celebration. And also because we have smeg all in the house to eat! I had Garlic mushrooms, suet pudding (Steak and ale), and hot chocolate fudge cake with cream. I couldn't walk... Today I'm planning on doing some work in the house for my dad. I'm gonna sand down the skirting boards on the landings and stairs ready for decorating. I'm also trying to persuade my dad to teach me how to plaster, but that wont be today. I wouldn't mind being a plasterer like my dad is, but with it all being in the wrist and with mine being dodgy, it might be unlikely... we shall see :) I was thinking of the all different types of careers I would have last night over tea. The one that came tops involved me learning to drive, purchasing an ice cream van, and playing some doody music out of the music thingo. I make I great ice cream (wo)man :D It's been roasting hot the last few days. I've had my window open for the past three. Trouble is, it probably means nothing and will be snowing by the end of the day. I had a dream last night that I was in Meadowhall with Sophie and Emma (friends from school) and we went to see a film, but Sophie had paid for us to go to the deluxe screen (This doesn't exist by the way). We had to climb up this really high swirly ramp with a see through floor... it was HORRIBLE! The price of this also included a meal and a huge drink. My meal was steak pie and chips. I ended up with three steak pies on my plate and about 2 chips. I went to a few cash machines in Meadowhall so I could pay Sophie back, but non of the machine were interested in giving me any money. They were just asking me silly questions, then spitting my card out without askin me if I wanted any money. Maybe its because I have a money problem at the moment. I have just got back from a very lovely weekend away in Northallerton. Gav's house is fantastic, I wannit! We had a very lazy day on Saturday. Lots of microwave meals, oranges, chips and wine. Although the wine was cheap, German, and crap! Cappsy bought a guitar and Gav brought his keyboard down for us all to play. It was fun working out how to play keys to play along with each other.. It was even more fun watching Capps get annoyed every time Gav managed to work out things faster than him on the guitar :D Jono turned up around 6ish, which was mighty thrilling indeed! We watched a film called The Sting then went to bed.. sort of. Lots of talking and giggling took place, speshly from me and Jono... which was followed by a 'SHUT THE FUCK UP!' from a tired Capps. *giggles* On Sunday we watched a couple of DVDs and then went out to play tennis and football... which was a lot of fun :D I said goodbye to everyone around 5ish. This is both the best and worse part of seeing everyone. I have to leave (*sulks*) but I get lots of hugs from lufly men :D *Shivers* That is all. I'll start with the good news, which comes in the form of my 2nd Yr/Semester 1 results: Management of Computing Projects: Pass Applied Data Modelling: Merit Network Server Configuration: Merit I am pleased with those marks actually, except the first one maybe. The module was poorly taught and I reckon I could have done a lot better if it wasn't for Peggy x( I'd rather not talk about the bad News though. *pushes it to the back of her mind* Much better.... :-s I was in alone all day till late yesterday. I quite enjoyed my own company actually... I felt less pressured and stressed about stuff. Mum woke me up at about 9 this mornin givin me my results letter and askin if I wanted a bacon butty. As a result I feel like crap. I want to go to sleep :( Song of the Day Artist: XTC Title: You And The Clouds Will Still Be Beautiful Album: Wasp Star (Apple Venus Vol.2) Reason: The lyrics are quite sweet :) Tuesday, March 02, 2004 ( 3:33 pm )
